ABOUT THE HETZER:

Like most destructive tanks the new Hetzer was based on the chassis Pzkpfw 38 (t) and was put into production in 1943, small, with good protection and great mobility the Hetzer was a tremendous success. The Czechoslovak army made an over production of the Hetzer even after the Second World War and exporting them were still in service with the Swiss army in 1970. It weighed 14,500kg and its maximum speed was 39km / h. 

The division saw further action in the fight for Rome, and later fought at Florence, the Futa Pass and the Battle of Bologna before surrendering to the Allies near the Po River in April 1945.

The division and its leadership was mentioned during Hitler's daily situation conference on 18 June 1944:

Hitler: How are the commanders of these units?
JODL: The 65th [Infantry] Division is good and has always been good.
